Two Rings and a Sign
Английский · уровень A2 · 153 слов
On Wednesday Sam bought two simple silver rings near his office. "What size?" the man in the shop asked. Sam gave the size of his own hand, because it was the only size he knew. Two hours later Tom wrote: "Good news, my brother found the rings in his shoe." "Keep yours for the next wedding." In the evening Rita called with a new problem. "Nina's father cannot speak on Saturday, because his heart is not strong." "You will speak, Sam." So Sam wrote a speech about a couple he had never seen. He wrote about white flowers, about apples, about a song about the sea and about people who help each other. At the end he added one more line: "And now I must tell you all one small thing." "Wonderful," Rita answered at eleven at night. "Nina's little brother is making a big sign for you." "It says: THANK YOU, SAM."
